Water softeners & whole-home filtration — when they actually help

Most of Lenawee County outside the city water systems runs on hard well water (often 15-25+ grains per gallon). Hard water scales up water heaters, shortens dishwasher and washing machine life, and leaves spotting on glassware. A softener pays for itself in appliance life and easier cleaning. Whole-home filtration is a separate question — usually about taste, iron, sulfur, or sediment, not hardness. We test water for free and tell you honestly what (if anything) you actually need.
